Is This the Right Paddle Board for You?

The Body Glove Performer 11 is a great all-around paddle board for the recreational paddler. It’s designed with beginners in mind but it is also a good board for intermediate paddle boarders. The board has a max weight capacity of 320 pounds which allows you to carry plenty of extra gear like a cooler! Plus the board already has built-in cooler straps!

I took this board down the river and on the lake and it did great in both conditions! The Performer 11 is more stable than many other SUPs on the market, which makes it easier for beginners to stand up without tipping over. I also found that it was very easy to maneuver through rapids and around rocks due to its smaller size. This made it easy to fit into tight spaces and get around obstacles without hitting anything or having to worry about losing control and falling off my SUP.

If you’re looking for a solid inflatable paddle board, the Body Glove Performer 11 is a great option. I would recommend this board to a beginner who is looking for a board that will grow with them and comes with everything they need. If you’re just beginning your paddle-boarding journey, an inflatable board is a great option for you. Inflatable boards are lightweight and easy to travel with. They also come with all of the accessories, including a pump and repair kit, making them incredibly user-friendly. If you are looking for a cheaper paddleboard option then maybe you should consider getting the ROC paddle board

Personal Experiences with the Body Glove Paddle Board

I got the Body Glove Performer 11 because I knew it would be a great option for my girlfriend, friends & family to use as their first board to learn on! I have had no problem getting on the Performer 11 and having a blast! It is very easy to balance on and maneuver on. My girlfriend had an easy time getting on it and she absolutely loved the design!

We went out into the lake with it and we were able to go about 5 miles out before we got too tired and had to turn around and head back! The best part about it is that when you get tired or need a break from paddling, you can sit down on the board and enjoy the serenity of being on in the water.

My girlfriend has been wanting a paddleboard for awhile now but she was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to balance herself or if she fell off (which happens all the time) she wouldn’t know what do do next! She was so excited when we brought this one home! I’m a average size guy so I have been able to show off my skills with this board. It is very light and easy to control, which allows me to perform tricks without worrying about falling off. It also has great stability which allows you to ride longer without feeling like you need a break.

The board is perfect for people who are looking to get into the sport of SUP or just want something fun to do on their day off. It’s not too heavy, so it’s easy to carry around, but still sturdy enough that you don’t have to worry about it breaking while you’re using it.

Another great thing about this board is that it comes with its own carrying bag, which makes traveling with it much easier than if you were trying to stuff it into another bag or backpack.

Body Glove Paddle Board Review Specs & Features

Measurements

The Body Glove Performer 11 is extremely versatile, so you can use it on flat water or in small surf. It’s a great addition to your SUP gear collection because it can be used by everyone in your family. The board is also suitable for dogs and cats that enjoy the water!

The measurements of the Body Glove Inflatable Paddle Board are:

  • Dimensions: 11’ x 34″ x 5.2″
  • Weight: 24 lbs ( Extremely Lightweight!!!!! )
  • Recommended inflation: 15-18 psi
  • Rider Weight: 180+ lbs
  • Max Weight: 320 lbs
  • Nose Rocker: 4.5”

Performance

The Body Glove Performer 11 is one of the more versatile boards you can get for the price. It’s a good choice for beginners and more advanced paddlers alike.

The body of the Performer 11 is quite long, which makes it great for cruising, but it also means that it’s not ideal for surfing or racing. The board has a tapered nose and a wide center, which means that you’ll have an easier time tracking in straight lines. The board comes with three nonremovable fins, so you can easily manuever and track well.

The Performer 11 has a nice amount of volume, which makes it comfortable and stable enough to paddle around on all day long. The low rocker profile helps with tracking and maneuverability, while still offering some lift for when you need to go out on the waves or catch some wind in your sails.

The deck pad is comfortable and grippy enough to keep you stable during those long paddles across open water or just around your favorite lake.

Tracking

When the wind picks up, it can be a little hard to face into it. However, I have been surprised at how well this board handles. The pointed nose lets it cut through the wind instead of fighting against it—resulting in less resistance compared with a round-nosed board I paddle on the same day in the same conditions.

The extra length helps, too. It gives the board more glide and increases speed, so you can get from point A to point B without having to paddle as hard. While it takes more energy to get up to speed initially than a shorter board, once you are moving, you cover more ground with each stroke and keep going for longer periods of time.

There’s a trade-off here: While a shorter board is easier to maneuver around obstacles and has better turning capabilities overall, this board cruises along faster and straighter.

Fin System

The fin system of the Body Glove Performer 11 is relatively simple compared to some inflatable paddler boards. The fun system consists of 3 fins total that is not removable at all and sits about 4 inches deep in the water. They have a nice design that allow for good tracking but not having the option to remove them to paddle shallow water or to add a larger fin is a bit of a draw back!

Storage

The storage capacity of the Performer 11 is a bit lacking. They only implemented one set of bungee cords towards the front of the board and they have limited D-rings across the board in general.

Despite these limitations, it is still possible to store your necessary gear on this paddleboard. You can store most of your smaller items in a backpack or duffel bag that has been strapped down to one of the available D-rings towards the front of the board with a few bungee cords.

Quality & Materials

The Performer 11 is incredibly strong and durable, but it also has a smooth ride that makes it easy to use. This board is made out of heavy duty PVC material, so you know it’s going to last a long time. The triple-layer center stringer and double-layer side rails provide extra rigidity for added stability.

Packaging

The Body Glove Paddle Board comes with a carrying system that is lightweight and easy to carry, with straps that distribute weight evenly across your body.

The carrying system is made of nylon fabric that is durable, strong and easy to clean. The straps are padded and adjustable to fit most body types. The bag also has an additional handle on the top for easy carrying when you don’t need to use the straps.

Patented Multi-Purpose Handle

The Body Glove brand is known for its high-quality, low-cost products. They are often the first choice of beginners who are just starting to get into water sports.

One of their most notable features is their patented handle design, which is made with a comfy fabric wrap. The wrap is big enough to fit around a water bottle, but it’s even better because you can wrap the paddle in the handle. That makes carrying your board with your paddle much simpler.

Body Glove Cruise Accessories

The Body Glove Paddle Board is loaded with accessories to make your paddleboarding experience as fun and easy as possible.

It comes with many items designed to enhance your paddleboarding experience. They include a Dual-Action Hand Pump, 3-piece Adjustable Paddle, 11 ft Ankle Leash, repair Kit, Cell Phone Dry Bag, and a Carryall Backpack.

Body Glove Paddle

3-piece Paddle

The Body Glove Inflatable Paddle Board comes with an aluminum shaft and fiberglass blade paddle. The paddle has a great design with a wooden printed fiber-reinforced blade. No matter what you use it for—whether it’s standard paddling or kayaking—you’ll enjoy using this paddle at an intermediate or beginner level.

The paddle is designed to be lightweight, so you don’t have to worry about being tired out by your paddle when you’re out on the water. The aluminum shaft is durable and doesn’t bend easily, so you can use it over and over again without worrying about breaking it.

Double Action Body Glove Pump

High-pressure Dual-action Pump

The high-pressure dual-action pump on this board inflates the board to 15 PSI in five minutes, making it one of the fastest and easiest pumps out there. Manual inflation can be a chore; this makes it more fun to get on the water faster. The board comes with a pump that you can use for years and when you want to inflate it even faster, you can buy an electric air pump to do the job.

Body Glove Coiled Leash

Coiled Leash

The Body Glove package includes a coiled leash for your safety. Attach it to the rear D-ring on your paddleboard and wear it over your ankle or calf. If you have an accident or fall off, the leash will keep you and your board connected so you don’t drift apart. It’s also an important safety feature for beginner paddlers who are still learning how to control their boards in open water conditions.

Body Glove Repair Kit

Repair Kit

A Repair kit is included in the package. It includes: PVC patches, grip deck patch, and valve tightener. If you are in the USA and order the board, you will not receive the adhesive. You can easily find it on Amazon! The valve tightener helps when you hear a slight leak of air near the valve. You just need to put it on and twist, and it will be fixed!

Should You Buy The a Body Glove Paddle Board?

If you are looking for a first-time budget-friendly paddleboard that will last you for years and will allow you to develop better skills on the water, then yes you should buy this paddle board!

This paddle board is great for beginners who want to learn how to stand up paddleboard (SUP) in a safe and fun way. The board is made of soft foam which makes it easy to grip and provides cushioning when you fall off the board. You can use this board on lakes or rivers, but I would not recommend using it in salt water because the foam might get damaged over time.

The overall quality of this paddleboard is good and will last you for many years if taken care of properly. This is why many reviewers recommend purchasing a cover or storage bag so that your board stays clean and dry when not in use.

You should not buy the Body Glove Paddle Board if you are interested in doing SUP races, paddle board multi-day camping adventures, and long distant touring. This board is good at a lot of activities but if you are interested in these then maybe you should invest in a paddle board like the Bluefin Cruise paddle board that allows you to have a longer board, different size fins, and more storage capabilities!
